Life and all that jazz

Today I went searching for a needle threader and found none but came back with these 1970’s 15 x 11 inch fabric placemats. I thought they would be great used in a sewing project and so  I was overjoyed to get them for just 50 pence! They  now eagerly await a project!!

1970's Fabric Placemats!

1970's Fabric Placemats!

No children today so using the day to sweep, dust, organise and take photos of clothes etc that will eventually be put onto eBay…and then freecycle….and then search out some recipes and decide what to make for Steve and myself tonight…

Not forgetting updating yet more items on The Gift Tree.

Feeling hungry now so must up and away to make a cuppa!

At the weekend the family and I ventured to Longleat Center Parcs for Lewis’s 10th birthday! Alongside us and our boys we also took one of Lewis’s friends B, which gave us 4 boys altogether, a bit of a handful, but fun all the same!!

Upon returning home, I was the first to fall asleep, after a long hot bath which eased my aching muscles and bruised body parts!

I collapsed on the bed at 7pm and didn’t wake until the following morning!

Sunday, we went to Standerwick boot sale where I purchased not a thing!! We had a lazy rest of the day with the boys quietly playing and steve working on his quote and me, happily playing on the sewing machine. Ah bliss!

I had a lovely package through the door today,  this gorgeous brooch…it reads I love Carousels! I love it!!! All the way from Australia! >>Click the images for a closer look<<

The packaging was enough in itself, but each layer that came off revealed another gorgeous layer of packaging! And a lovely message thanking me for my order =)

Since I’m very pmt’ish today, I’m now going to attempt to find more cutsie items to buy!!

….I really shouldn’t be on here! I should be packing….

And sending parcels off….

And I’m nowhere near finishing any task….I’m stressed! So what do i do? I come on here, waste more time and feel more stressed and curse myself later for the time wasted, when i could have been doing the more important things…LOL…. I’m getting nowhere fast!

And breathe…So…as this is turning into a photo post…

Take a look at what arrived at my door the other day, I’m in love!..with…a bag! rah!

The bag is new and from the online store, BUT At the latest bootsale I aquired myself a BRAND SPANKING new C.Kidston Apron, complete with tags, for £3! It’s gorgeous….I was so very happy!!

I also aqquired some very gorgeous Benefit goodies and a lovely new organic smock top, again, new with tags still on!!  I am addicted!

I was just sat working on my website when my heart dropped into my stomach when a thought entered my head….”Gaahhhhhhhh, spinning…”

Once or twice a week i go to the UCW sessions at the gym, UCW – Ultimate Cycle Workout (or Spinning/Spin, as we call it) . I know another word for it, torture…dressed up as some kind of healthy exercise…yeah right. Lou booked me in this morning at 7.15 am, early I know, but as it’s very popular, you need to book as soon as the gym opens. It’s not enjoyable, feeling sweat run straight from the top of your back all the way down into the crack of your bum, nor is it fun to feel like you’re going to run out of breath at any given moment, nor is it fun when the instructor says “Lassst one!…” when you know full well that you have another 30 minutes of the crap to do. GAH indeed. Why is it so popular? the fact that you can burn 900 calories in a session says it all really…..

So yeah, now I have that to look forward to all day, nice one….

It is our moving day on monday, and i can see how every item will be placed, how organised and spacious it will all be upon moving in and settling in…., God I hope. I’ve had enough of clutter and dis-organisation!!! But I can’t wait!!!! A house!!! yay! On the 19th we are having a housewarming, and my friend Jo, a alcoholic of the highest kind (I joke…) has just told me she’s coming so i’d better start saving for some decent wine…LOL!!!!

Dan At Longleat. 28th June 2008. Ahh bless!

My little boy…okay maybe not so little (he’s nine) went off on a coach this morning heading for Danywenalt in Wales, within the Brecon Beacons for his school residential trip.

You could see in his eyes when he hugged me goodbye that he was nervous and unwilling to go and by the time the coach started it’s engine, he was crying and the headmistress was comforting him…and then he was gone…

I know it’s going to be good for him, he needs to do these things to help him grow, become independent. But I HATE it, to me he is still my little boy and always will be and I feel out of control now that he has gone to Wales with no form of communication.

It’s just two days I know….

But at least when he’s at his dads, it’s just a few miles away and I can reach him within ten minutes. And everything is in my hands and I am responsible for him still.

“Have a lovely time dan, have fun with your friends and laugh in the sunshine, love you lots…xxx”

There is nothing better than a good stretch is there? Lovely!

Can’t seem to wake up this morning, just yawning and stretching. Must wake up though, lots to do!

Can’t think of anything to blog about though today so will sign off before I start rambling……LOL

Started early, being awoken by the three boys with flowers, chocs and small gifts and a rendition of Happy Birthday! Thanks Guys!

It was a lovely birthday, with a promised shopping spree and dosh from my beloved.

A visit from my sister brought a most yearned for book and music cd from my sister (thanks sis! x)

A visit to my parents and a meal with some friends along with all the lovely messages made a rather lovely end to my birthday.

30 next year! gah!

The kids are now back at school after a rather hectic fortnight which consisted of swimming, family/friend visits/lots of mess…and wow, for the first time in nine years – no visits to the soft play centre which is now SUCH a bore…!

Back to work now, with SO much to do with my shop as it has now changed design and I am now only just managing to find the time to upload all the product images once again, along with new items as well, which is exciting for me to see. Alongside that I have now given myself the responsibility of Steve’s business paperwork alongside my own, which resulted in me installing a program called ‘Complete Cashbooks’ on his computer yesterday and now I am awaiting his next business statements so from there on I can then input all incomings/outgoings into this new program and make it so much easier for the VAT returns etc etc blah de blah….I can see it all going over your head. Okay, no more business stuff!!!

As some of you may know, it is downshifting week (19th-25th April 2008). We are taking part! Update on that later this week…

I am really looking forward to getting this promised house – then I will be able to recycle much more easily, compost all my food wastes (you should see the pulp i get from my juicer – such a waste!! if only i knew someone who made Jam…and no I’m not doing that!!) and have much more room for all of us to be that bit more creative….

Roll on July!!!!

The Tribe with the Tom & Jerry Figure.

We went to Lacock on Tuesday, a beautiful village in Wiltshire, a village frequently used by films and television programmes….mostly famous though, is for it’s connections to the Harry Potter films and it’s quaint houses, streams and barns.
Lacock holds an annual Scarecrow trail for the kids, and this was the second year running that my sister and me took our tribe to search for famous character figures.
It was a lovely day, warm enough to brave the outside without coats, and I had a whale of a time snapping the buildings, allotments, bridges, the old post office, and of course the kids…the best subjects for my photos =)
We stopped for a coffee in the Red Lion Inn and let them run riot in the village park on the way back to the car.
A wonderful day!

Today was going to be one of those days, I just knew it, felt in in my bones when  I awoke at 6am by the early delivery lorry reversing in the car park and the extreme volume that the birds seemed to be singing at today.

I was worrying about my little car’s mot and service today so could not get back to sleep and just tossed and turned until I gave up….and alas, on getting into my darling of a machine –  found it had been driven into and left with a huge dent in my passenger side and my wing mirror hanging off!! I really wanted to cry and wring the neck of the person who dared to just leave it in such a state. =(

How dare they!

Trying not to stress about work (moving site to a new shop provider, gah!), Steve’s work (lots of quotes and admin to be done), The impending school hols (a whole fortnight of demanding and argumentative children…) and the thought of moving, even though it’s a good thing…moving to a HOUSE (joy of joys) but its the moving, packing, unpacking thats making me sweat. But fingers crossed though that it all goes ahead. We want this house, It’s perfect for us.

May this day,  NAY week get better!

xx
